Viper T56 6 speed into an '83 Mustang transmission swap
This is what is required to install a true Viper T56 behind a small block Ford. There are Viper spec T56's available to fit, but the actual Viper T56 that came out of a Dodge Viper is different. These are incredibly strong and are as close to unbreakable as it gets. This '83 Mustang (yes it is an '83, but with several years of parts on it) came with the first T5. A good trans in it's day, but will never hold up behind a strong 306 with nitrous and good tires. The Viper trans will easily handle this and with the extra overdrive make the car much more driveable than it would be with an automatic and loose converter. With a 4:10 gear it's turning 1900 rpm at 75 mph in 6th gear.
The transmisions are readily available used and we can provide all the needed parts to make the swap along with the technical support to get you through it.
